At the end of August, Don and I had a quick trip down to Utah to visit with Brenan, Beth and McKay before I headed back to school on August 27th. Dillon also moved back down from Edmonton to start the fall semester here. It was fun to spend time playing with McKay and discovering all his antics! He is so full of personality.

Beth promised if we came down for a visit, she would make us an anniversary cake, so here it is! She is truly amazing at what she has learned to do...what a beautiful masterpiece! Thanks, Beth!

McKay was so much fun as he ran around and climbed on everything. What a little man!

Brenan's work had a staff party at 'Boondock's' near their home. Here Beth, Don, and Brenan are belting up to hit the tracks. I stayed with McKay and we watched them zoom around. We had fun in the batting cages as well as playing the arcade games. We were determined to win a prize for McKay, which we did! It was a ton of fun!

The following day we hiked on a trail up to some falls. It was a hot day and it was fun to do together, although, I tripped on a tree root while heading back down and poor little McKay was in my arms at the time. He hit the dirt and scraped his cheekbone. It was one of the worse days of my life!

A lunch date at In 'N Out Burger, now in Utah.

My sweet little McKay, peeking through some panels of a bridge near a restaurant we went to.

Uncle Dillon and McKay. They like to spend time together and they have so much fun!

One nasturtium seed...a full plant with tons of blooms....Wow!

After returning from Utah, we discovered that deer had snuck into our yard one evening in early September. We had been happy that we'd kept them away all summer. Hmmm, this poor Mountain Ash really took a beating by some buck trying to rub his antlers on the branches. Notice the base of the tree!

Don brought this crocus from the fields in mid September. Crazy...crocuses are the first flower of the spring, blooming even in snow covered ground! What the heck?

Joan and Wayne Greep celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary with a family dinner and later a calling reception. It was nice to have the family all together for the big event. Here are Tom, Roy, Joan, Don, and Brent.

Joan and Wayne and their children were all there.
So fun to see your kids in Utah! McKay is so adorable! I am jealous of Beth's cake decorating skills....that's something I've always wanted to learn how to do!
