Today, a storm rolled in around 4 o'clock. It had been sunny, but suddenly turned dark and windy. It began to hail slightly, so Don and I headed out to the front deck to watch. The hail started tiny, but soon turned to marble size and it came down HARD. It lasted for about 40 minutes! I sat there with my head in my hands. I just couldn't believe it.
Everything was covered in white balls. The scent of pine was strong as the evergreen trees got hammered. The air was so cold.
I went into the laundry room and heard some strange sounds I couldn't identify. Finally I realized that the hail in the eaves troughing was slowly melting and sliding down the down-spouting. It was all piled up at the bottom.
My beautiful rock garden took a hard hit. I wanted to cry.

wow, we were all up at our campground when that came in, I am glad we missed the hail, but not happy for you and all your beautiful flowers!
ReplyDeleteI want to cry for your flowers, too! They were so beautiful! And the lost zucchini is a tragedy!
